At a glance
For event organisers in brief
Your production, your run sheet, your client. DERLO fits in and takes care of security.
- What does DERLO take care of?
- Protection for artists, speakers and VIP guests, access control for backstage and VIP areas, entry and security staff, and the security concept – individually or as a complete package from a single provider.
- Who is it for?
- For event agencies, booking and artist agencies, organisers of corporate events, concerts and galas, for venues, and for clubs and carnival societies.
- Can you work with our own security company?
- Yes. DERLO can, for example, protect artists and guests of honour while your security company looks after entry and the venue floor, or coordinate both tasks.
- How does an enquiry work?
- You tell us the date, location, type of event, expected number of guests and any special guests. Once we have looked at the venue and the schedule, you receive a quote covering all services.
- What does it cost?
- That depends on the duration, the times of day, the number of security personnel, their tasks and the planning involved. There are no flat rates, because every event is different.
- Who is responsible?
- Marc Derlich, owner of DERLO Consulting & Protection. He plans every assignment himself, is personally present at most of them and remains your contact, including on the day of the event.
Who it is for
For everyone who is responsible for events
When you plan an event, you are liable for how it runs and your client is holding you to your word. Security is one building block of that, and it has to work without drawing attention.
Event agencies
You produce for your client and need a partner who sticks to the run sheet, the briefing and the dress code.
Typical assignments
- Corporate events and product launches
- Galas, award shows and anniversaries
- Trade fair stands and roadshows
Booking and artist agencies
Your artist should arrive, perform and leave safely, however packed the venue is.
Typical assignments
- Getting between hotel, venue and stage
- Meet & greets and autograph sessions
- Tour dates and one-off shows
Organisers and venues
You are responsible for guests, the site and the official requirements, from entry until the last guest leaves.
Typical assignments
- Concerts, parties and club nights
- Corporate and Christmas parties
- Events with high-profile guests
Clubs and societies
Run by volunteers, with many guests and often with guests of honour who need particular attention.
Typical assignments
- Carnival sessions and balls
- Town festivals and anniversaries
- Receptions with guests of honour

Working together
Part of your production, not just another department.
An event brings many parties together: production, technical crew, catering, the venue, management and the security company. Security works well when it fits into these processes instead of creating its own.
That is why DERLO follows your run sheet, your briefing and the kind of presence your client expects. We agree with you in advance how DERLO presents itself to your client.
- One contact for production and management
- Coordination with the venue, technical crew and security company
- Dress code and conduct to suit the event
- Discretion about guests, artists and procedures

Frequently asked questions from event organisers
Does DERLO also work on behalf of an agency?
Yes. The client can be the agency, the organiser or the management. Before the event, we agree who the contact is during the assignment and how DERLO presents itself to your client.
Can you take on individual tasks only?
Yes. For example, DERLO can take on only the protection of an artist or the guests of honour, while the venue's security company looks after entry and the venue floor.
How many security staff does my event need?
That depends on the number of guests, the size of the area, the entrances and exits, the audience, the schedule and the permit conditions. A reliable figure is only possible once we have looked at the venue and the schedule; it is part of the quote.
Does DERLO also prepare the security concept?
Yes. For larger events and events in public spaces, the authorities often require a security concept. More on security concepts for events.
How early should we enquire?
As early as possible, especially during the carnival season and the Christmas party season. Short-notice enquiries are possible; whether they can be accommodated depends on scope and availability.
How much does security for an event cost?
The price depends on the duration, the times of day, the number of security personnel, their tasks and the effort involved in planning and coordination. After our conversation, you receive a specific quote.
Does DERLO give client references?
No. As a matter of principle, the names of clients, artists and guests are never published. Your event stays confidential too.
