With families, DERLO protects not only the people but also their privacy: names, hotels, appointments and photos stay confidential – before, during and after the stay.
The initial consultation clarifies who is to be accompanied, where distance is appropriate and which times need to be taken into account, such as prayer times or a different daily rhythm during Ramadan.
Photos in public cannot always be prevented; the protection team makes sure the family does not unintentionally become the centre of attention.

How much does close protection cost for guests from Dubai and the UAE?
DERLO bills close protection at a day rate; if it is only needed for a few hours, a minimum of six hours is charged. The total for a stay in Germany depends on duration and times of day, the number of close protection officers, vehicles with security drivers, the cities including travel and accommodation, and preparation. Does DERLO also meet guests at the private aviation terminal?
Yes. DERLO meets guests from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman at airports such as Düsseldorf (DUS), Cologne Bonn (CGN), Frankfurt (FRA) or Munich (MUC), at the regular terminal as well as wherever the airport handles private and business flights. Arrival time, luggage, vehicles and the route to the hotel are planned in advance; if the landing time changes, the pick-up adapts.
Can close protection be combined with a chauffeur?
Yes. DERLO combines close protection with a security driver who plans the route, stops and drop-off points as part of the protection plan. If the family or their host provides a vehicle, the security driver usually drives it. If none is available, DERLO agrees with you in advance which vehicle suits the number of people and the luggage. How discreet is DERLO with families from the Gulf states?
DERLO treats the names, hotels, appointments and photos of families from the Gulf states as confidential and does not name clients as references either. The initial consultation clarifies who is to be accompanied, how much distance is wanted and what consideration the women and children of the family should be shown. Dress and conduct adapt to the setting, from the hotel to the shops.
Which languages does Marc Derlich speak?
Marc Derlich speaks German, English and Persian (Farsi). In any of these languages, the family, their office, the concierge or the hotel can hold the initial consultation with him, agree the planning and make arrangements during the stay.
How much notice do you need to arrange protection for a stay?
Short-notice enquiries are possible, for example when a flight is only confirmed a few days in advance. Whether DERLO can take on a stay at short notice depends on the number of people, duration, cities and the team's availability. Marc Derlich is reachable around the clock, fastest by phone or WhatsApp; for stays of several weeks, it is worth enquiring early via the contact page.
Does the service also cover stays in the UAE?
This page covers stays in Germany: protection begins on arrival and ends at departure, and planning takes place in Frechen near Cologne. DERLO has no office or staff of its own in the UAE. Whether protection is possible on trips abroad is assessed for each destination individually; more on this under international travel protection.
Does private close protection replace police protection on state visits?
No. In Germany, official state guests are protected by the police – depending on the case, by the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) or the police of the federal state concerned. This protection is ordered by the authorities and cannot be booked. DERLO is a private provider licensed under section 34a GewO, has no police powers and provides protection for private and business stays.
