- How does the planning work?
- In an initial consultation, we clarify the destination, dates, appointments and who is travelling with you. This forms the basis for the travel plan, transfers, contacts and emergency arrangements.
- What does it cost?
- We bill close protection on trips at a day rate; if it is only needed for a few hours, we charge a minimum of six hours. The amount depends on the duration, the destination, the number of close protection officers and their travel costs. After the initial consultation, you receive a quote that lists every item separately.
- Who travels with you?
- Marc Derlich, a certified security and protection specialist (Fachkraft für Schutz und Sicherheit) with international operational experience, including in crisis regions. He plans every trip himself and is personally present on most assignments, with additional close protection officers from his network where needed.

From 2017 to 2020, Marc Derlich trained as a certified security and protection specialist (Fachkraft für Schutz und Sicherheit). Over the same period, he completed many of his close protection courses in Germany and abroad. He has international operational experience, including in crisis regions. His qualifications also include evacuation from crisis regions and preparation for travel abroad.
This experience goes into preparing every trip: assessing the destination and accommodation, planning routes and excursions on the ground and drawing up realistic emergency plans. It also makes for protection that stays calm, even in unfamiliar conditions.
In Germany, Marc Derlich has protected international delegations in Hamburg and Stuttgart, among other places, and Arab delegations in Düsseldorf. In Frankfurt am Main, he took on long-term assignments for clients from the USA.

Marc Derlich plans every travel assignment himself, is personally present on most trips and remains your direct point of contact, before departure as well as while you are away. For larger travelling groups, he puts together a team of experienced close protection officers from his network.

Frequently asked questions about international travel protection
Which countries does DERLO cover?
That is assessed individually for each trip. Whether and how protection is possible depends on the situation at the destination, entry and residence regulations, the duration and your requirements.
How much does close protection for travel cost?
Close protection on trips is also billed at a day rate; if it is only needed for a few hours, a minimum of six hours is charged. The total price is made up of the duration, the number of close protection officers, the preparation and the team's travel costs. You receive a quote that lists every item separately.
How far in advance should I enquire?
As early as possible, so that accommodation, transfers and appointments can be factored into the planning. Short-notice enquiries are possible; whether we can take them on depends on the destination and the scope.
Does DERLO also protect visitors from abroad in Germany?
Yes. International guests and delegations are met at the airport and accompanied to their hotel and appointments, for example in Cologne, Düsseldorf or other German cities. A security driver can be added on request. Families and delegations from the Emirates have a page of their own: executive protection for guests from Dubai and the UAE.
Can my family travel with me?
Yes. Protection on family trips is mindful of children and the need to relax, and concentrates on arrival, routes and excursions. More about family protection.
Which languages does Marc Derlich speak?
Marc Derlich speaks German, English and Persian (Farsi). The initial consultation, travel planning and arrangements with him can take place in any of these languages. Before and during the trip, he is reachable around the clock.
What happens in an emergency?
Arrangements are made in advance for every trip: who decides, where to turn for help and who is informed. Marc Derlich is also trained as a close protection medic.
